Talked to Kevin yesterday and he had good fishing for trout off the South Jetty.  He also hooked into some fish on the beach in the first gut not too far from the jetty.  Sounds like mostly trout are around.  The water isn't clear, but not too bad considering the rainfall we've had.  He said he was going to try the North Jetty today.  I'll pass along the report...

I've been catching lots of trout in the surf.  Mostly on topwaters near dawn and dusk.  If the surf clears up and flattens out I'm catching them all day long on soft plastics.  Most of the time anything with chartreuse is working but occasionally black and chrome or blue and chrome is working.  I've seen a few sharks in the first gut at dawn and the other day I saw some snook but couldn't get a bite.  Live mullet and croakers are also doing well in the surf early and late in the first or second gut.

Caught some reds at mud island on live mullet but in limited numbers.  I just haven't had good luck with reds this year.

fellow fisherman, looking for an updated report.
Has the surf cleared?
Any news from the south jetty on catches?
My family and I are heading down for the rest of the week, praying for clear weather good fish.
