We spent 4 of the last 5 days running offshore.  We found kings and spanish mackerel near the shrimp boats about 8 to 10 miles offshore.  One of my friends from the park caught a nice sail only 7 miles SE of the jetties.

We limited on kings, snapper, dorado, shark, triggerfish and ling.  If you can find a trash/weed line in blue water there will probably be dorado under it.  I found one about 15 miles east of the jetties and pulled several nice ones out of there along with some chicken dolphin.

The seas were so calm that I saw 18 ft. flat bottomed skiffs out 22 miles at some rigs.

Another friend had a very large Manta ray jump into his boat while heading out of the jetties.

Be careful because the idiots are out in full force.  Sat. night some knucklehead drove his boat up onto the end of the south jetty.  Another one sank his truck at the boat ramps in the marina on Saturday.

Big Bert, you should warn us when they schedule an "Idiots only" fishing tournament.   Bonkers

Motorjock,    I will see about adding them to the calendar but I am not sure how many events you can put into each day so they may fill up fast.   LOL  Island Shark

Thanks Bert,
I knew I could count on ya.

I see TS Erin is pressing down on Port A.  I'm gonna try to get into town on Friday...hopefully the roads will be open.  I need to get things battened down before TS Dean gets into the gulf.  I may just pull my RV home this weekend and hope that Dean goes somewhere else.

Did You Know

Is a world population of 6 billion too many? Compare that with animals. There are more than a million animal species. There are 6,000 species of reptiles, 73,000 kinds of spiders, and 3,000 types of lice. For each person there is about 200 million insects. The 4,600 kinds of mammals represent a mere 0,3% of animals and the 9000 kinds of birds only 0,7%. The most numerous bird specie is the red-billed quelea of southern Africa. There are an estimated 100 trillion of them.
