Reds, trout, and Spanish mackerel off the jetties. Trout thick off the piers at night. Many blacktip and bonnethead sharks being caught from boats and from the piers. A reliable source told me they saw several Tarpon off the north and south jetties, last week.

I caught several small trout and several keepers in the surf, off the first sand bar/second gut.  Mullet were beginning to move south in large numbers.  They too were in the second gut...most of them in the 8 to 10 inch range, some larger.  I didn't see any small mullet yet.

Also caught one keeper spanish mack and one large (25") lady fish.  Caught the mack and the trout on a chartreuse Skitterwalk and the ladyfish on a green cocahoe minnow.  Also caught some small florida pompano but nothing worth keeping.

We caught two small blacktips in the second gut on live whiting.  We caught the whiting on a Sabiki rig then baited them up on long rods.

Not much occurring at Charlie's Pasture (for me anyway) but if you can get close to the ferry landing there are some reds that might bite on live mullet or piggy perch.

I did find a wayward crab trap against the sea wall in Charlie's Pasture.  It was tumbling down the sea wall as a ship passed.  Don't know how long it had been adrift but it was loaded with lots of large blue crab so I did the responsible thing.  I removed the hazard from the water.  Of course I had to do something with all those crabs.....I through them back into the water.....boiling water, seasoned with "Crab Boil" and had a feast.

Sounds like pretty exciting fishing last weekend.  Let's hope it continues...I will be down this weekend.
