Like every April we've ever had, It's been a windy one. If it was still winter I would probably be on the computer everyday, instead of fishing.
  The Spanish mackerel have been here for quite awhile. They  have been thick in the surf and at the jetties. Live shrimp, a heavy spoon, or a gotcha lure will do the trick. I have already seen kingfish and jacks at the jetty and a large ling made for a nice suprise last week. 
I caught my first snook of the year, he was only about 8 inches but they are always fun to catch. I caught him after catching 6 or 7 Spanish mackerel. Sheepshead can still be found on the rocks and catching a redfish or a Sp. mack every other fish is allot of fun. The surf side of the south jetty, between the second and third sandbar, has been very productive for me.
The flats filled up with the easter tide and brought life back to the shallow water. Reds are tailing in the morning and late afternoon. I haven't found any big schools of trout, but thats right around the corner.
I posted picks of a 9lb 12oz red and a pick of a 3lb 15oz ribbonfish I caught. I wouldn't normally brag about a ribbon fish, but this thing was a monster.
