Island Shark  The Sunny warm days have made for some great fishing this week in Port Aransas. The weather for the next few days is predicted to be overcast. The surf has been calm for the past several days bringing the blue water closer to shore but in the past 2 days a slight change has made the surf rougher, but the green water is in to shore. Redfish, trout, Spanish mackerel, gafftop, and black drum are being caught on the piers and jetties. The trout fishing has been good under the lights on the piers. The surf has produced many nice trout this week on piggy perch. The pompano, Spanish mackerel, skipjack, and trout are being caught in the surf.  The fishing has been very unusual the past few weeks with a sailfish being caught on the end of the jetties.
Kingfish are still the hot catch at the end of the jetties and several tarpon have been hooked (3 on Spoon’r baits this week).

The dock fishing reports have been excellent as well with reports of 2 large  Shark sharks  Shark being caught with a variety of dolphin, shark, blackfin tuna, amberjack, vermilion snapper, kingfish, mahi-mahi, barracuda, grouper, pompano and red snapper have all been caught.

Baits of choice this week.
Live Baits – shrimp, piggy perch (Great Trout Killers in the surf)
Dead baits – mullet, menhaden, fresh shrimp
Artificial baits –Strike King Redfish Magic, SW Assassin (Texas Red), Gulps!! (all) & Spoon’r baits.
Offshore baits – Sumo jigs & Storm Deep Thunder 15 (375 & 269)
